I love books, they bring me such joy and I suspect you are here because you do too.

"Book lovers beget book lovers" The Grand Complication - Allen Kurzweil.

I read mainly fiction, particularly legal dramas but will read anything and I do try to diversify but not always successfully.

I would say books are an obsession for me. More so during this lock down, I have purchased one or two or sixty-one at my last count, many of which I will share here. I purchase books from Waterstones, Amazon and The Works mainly but have purchased from lots of places.

I have over a 1000 books at my last count and so many remain unread. I have decided to try and discipline myself and have been making sure, I read one book that I have had a while and then 'treat' myself to a new one. This does have some interesting results. I started to read a book, which I must have bought in 1993, some 27 years ago, when I was working at Waterstones, Meadowhall. It, with many, many others, has been with me since then. It has been in many packing boxes, as I travelled from Sheffield, to Nottingham, to Milton Keynes, back to Nottingham, then into storage then to Harrogate and back to my current residence in Nottingham. You could say it is a well travelled book. So as part of my read an old book, read a new book drive, I decided to pick this one up, 2 chapters in, I thought, well what a lot of rubbish and put it in a bag ready for the charity shop! Which, made me wonder, if any of you have any similar experiences?.

Have you waited years to read a book and then you were left disappointed ?
