Daily musings of a book addict. Tuesday 8th September 2020. 14:21

Today is International Literacy Day and it has given me the chance to reflect on how grateful I am that I am able to read and write, something I often take for granted. I am grateful that my parents taught me to read and I had good schooling that encouraged more of the same. I think it is sad to think that 1 in every 6 adults in the UK (figures from Literacy Trust) has poor literacy skills. I feel so very lucky that besides a struggle with punctuation, I can read and write. Please do take a moment to feel grateful if you can too.

Happy reading.

Kirsty
